Out For Sport and Nike empower 300+ of London's LGBTQ+ community

Out for Sport  have announced the results of the Nike LGBTQIA+ Diversity and Inclusion Fund, demonstrating its impact on London’s amateur sports scene. Over 300 individuals from underrepresented communities have participated in sports initiatives funded by the grants scheme, inspiring inclusivity and empowerment.

London’s LGBTQ+ clubs already deliver the positive benefits of sport to more than 8,000 people every year. With these grants, recipient clubs were able to offer safe and supportive opportunities for female, trans, non-binary people, for individuals under the age of 25, and for those from under-represented ethnicities to participate in sport. The grants also  provided valuable diversity and inclusion training for coaches and committees within the sports club community.

A total of seven grants were awarded to LGBTQ+ sports clubs in London, including:

  • Knockout LGBTQ+ Boxing Club
  • London Otters Rowing Club
  • Unicorns LGBTQIA+ Netball Club
  • Ishigaki Ju-Jitsu
  • London Royals Hockey Club
  • Camden Kempo Martial Arts
  • Goal Diggers Football Club
