Out For Sport is the charity and member network of LGBTQ+ inclusive sports clubs across London and the South East. Membership gives your club more visibility, connections with other clubs, and support to grow, so more LGBTQ+ people can find you and feel at home.

Which membership is right for you?

There are two types of membership, and how your club is set up decides which one fits. Applying is free, and fees only apply if your application is approved.

Full membership: £25 a year
For LGBTQ+ inclusive amateur sports clubs in London and the South East that:

  • were set up by and for the LGBTQ+ community
  • run regular sessions focused on LGBTQ+ communities
  • actively create safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ people

Associate membership: £15 a year
For amateur sports clubs across the UK that are either:

  • set up by and for the LGBTQ+ community, but based outside London and the South East
  • not exclusively LGBTQ+, but actively supporting LGBTQ+ communities

Frequently asked questions

Is it free to apply?

Yes. Applications are free. If your application is approved, you’ll be invited to pay the annual fee for your chosen membership.

Can we apply at any time?

Yes, membership is rolling. Your annual membership runs for 12 months from the date you pay.

Does membership follow the sports season or the calendar year?

Neither. Membership runs for 12 months from the date you pay, whenever in the year that is. We’ll send a reminder when it’s close to renewal.

What happens after I apply?

We’ll review your application and get back to you via the email you provided. If approved, you’ll receive everything you need to get started.

I've applied but haven't heard back. What should I do?

Get in touch and we’ll check on your application.

How do I renew?

You’ll receive a renewal reminder before your membership expires. Renewal is simple and can be done online.

Do we have to participate in everything?

Not at all. You’re welcome to engage at whatever level works for your club.

What if our club is inclusive but doesn’t run LGBTQ+ specific sessions?

Associate membership could be a good fit. It’s for clubs that aren’t exclusively LGBTQ+ but actively support LGBTQ+ communities. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to talk it through.

Can individuals join?

Membership is for amateur sports clubs only. If you’re an individual or organisation that wants to support LGBTQ+ sport, visit our Support LGBTQ+ Sport page.
