Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience to volunteer?
No experience needed. We welcome anyone who wants to get involved. We’ll give you all the info and support you need, so you’ll never be left on your own.
Can allies volunteer with Out for Sport?
Absolutely. You don’t have to be part of the LGBTQ+ community to support LGBTQ+ inclusive sport. Allies are an important part of making sport truly inclusive.
How much time do I need to give?
It depends on the role. Some volunteers help out once a week for an hour or two. Others help only at events, which might be once every few months. You can choose what works best for you.
Can I volunteer just once or for a short time?
Yes, we often need extra help for one-off events, like the Out for Sport Festival. It’s a great way to try volunteering without a regular commitment.
Can I volunteer with a friend or my team at work?
Yes, definitely. Volunteering with friends, colleagues, or your team can be a lot of fun. Get in touch via email and we’ll help set it up.
