Bidding organisations include 11 cities from North America, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia
The Federation of Gay Games (FGG) has revealed the cities that have submitted Letters of Intent (LOI) and the respective fees for the 2022 Gay Games XI bidding process.
The 11 cities bidding on Gay Games XI are Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Los Angeles, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, San Francisco, CA, Washington, D.C. (USA), Cape Town (ZAF), Guadalajara (MEX), Hong Kong (CHN), Tel Aviv (ISR).
FGG co-president Joanie Evans tells us: “The site selection process is one our most vital tasks, and we take great pride in our process. Our gratitude to the interested host organisations for sharing our vision of promoting equality in sport and culture.”
Final Bid Books are due on 30 November 2016. The vote for the host of Gay Games XI from three finalist candidate cities will take place in October 2017 at the FGG Annual General Assembly meeting in Paris, France.
First meetings with bidders is at the next Annual General Assembly, October 2016, in Sydney, Australia.
Gay Games 10 Paris 2018 takes place 04-12 August 2018. Registration opened May 2016.

The Gay Games was conceived by Dr. Tom Waddell, an Olympic decathlete, and was first held in San Francisco in 1982. Subsequent Gay Games: San Francisco (1986), Vancouver (1990), New York (1994), Amsterdam (1998), Sydney (2002), Chicago (2006), Cologne (2010), Cleveland+Akron (2014), and Gay Games 10 takes place in Paris in 2018.
