Stonewall Football Club

The world’s leading and first LGBT football club, providing access for all individuals to play football, regardless of ability and sexual orientation. We welcome players of all ages and abilities and are completely all-inclusive.

In March 1991 a gay amateur footballer living in London put an advert in a gay publication asking for like-minded people to contact him. He wanted to encourage gay men to play competitive football and was amazed by the number of replies he received.

Stonewall Football Club was born and was the first gay mens football club in the UK. The club joined the Sportsmans Senior Sunday Football League that same year and have grown to the extent that we have run up to four teams in a season.

We play against straight opposition in the Middlesex County Football League (Premier and Junior Reserve Division), we also have regular training nights, 5-a-side nights and social evenings.

We are the current British, European, World and Gay Olympic Champions

Training is on Thursday nights (Sept-May) at The Castle Centre (Elephant and Castle) from 8-10pm

Our 1XI play football in the Middlesex County Premier League. Our 2XI in the Middlesex County Combination Division and our 3XI compete in the London Unity League
